2001-07-24 - 12:36 p.m. - Natalie was Locked in the car!!

Last night was terrible!

I went to pick the girls up from school and Natalie got locked in the car, in her car seat, and the keys on the seat, with me and Rebekah just standing outside trying to get in. I begged and pleaded for her to take her seat belt off and unlock the door, but she just sat there watching everyone looking at her, and waiting patiently for me to get in the car. The temp was 100 yesterday, and some of the other people were not helping my agony. One girl kept saying, "You should just break the window, she could be dead in 20 minutes." ARGH!!! Talk about nerve-wracking! One of the dads ran home and got his slim-jim and popped the lock eventually, but not until I was hysterically crying and Bekah was apologizing for locking the doors. I tried to really downplay that it could have been Rebekah's fault, but I think that she's smart enough to have figured out what happened. Poor kid.

All turned out fine, and Natalie wasn't even phased by it. The heat didn't seem to bother her, but it took me a solid 30 minutes to calm down and stop shaking from the thought of what could have happened. It all could have been avoided if I'd driven my own car to get the girls, and not ridden in DH's air-conditioned/power-locks car. My windows are always down, and the doors never locked. *sigh* Oh, well.

Natalie also has 3 ring-worms. How & where she got them, I'll never know. We don't have cats, and I'm not sure how else they are transmitted. I've been putting Tinactin on them and think that they're starting to dry up a bit.

Until next time...
