2001-07-16 - 11:46 a.m. - On the way to Grandpa's farm...

Well, we all packed up and went to the country this weekend. Now for those of you not familiar with that, let me enlighten you. DH's father has some land out in northwest Texas, about an hour south of Wichita Falls. For the last 6 months or so, they've been fixing up the old farmhouse, and DH has been out there a bunch helping them get it back in livable order. So this weekend, we took the girls out and all stayed over-night on Saturday night.

As it turns out, Rebekah was more comfortable out there, and less timid. She wanted to call the cows and feed the cows, and go hiking in the woods, and visit the neighbors & see their cows....and on and on it went. Natalie, however, was surprisingly, uncharacteristically, timid. She was scared of the grasshoppers, scared of the cows, scared of the weeds growing all around. Anytime we were outside, she wanted me to carry her. !!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!!! My little daredevil, spunky ball of gumption and guts, didn't hardly want to step outside the door!

I thought that was just TOO odd not to share!

She was back to her normal self by the time we got home. We all went swimming and had a good time. I put them to bed about 8:15 and Bekah was zonked before 8:45. Natalie had to be encouraged to stay in her bed, but by 9, was quiet. Neither of them wanted to get out of bed this morning....figures.
